This is a good news in these difficult times, Greece is getting closer to reopening to tourism! Greek Tourism Minister Haris Theocharis stated in a press conference that Greece hopes to open its tourist season on May 14.
A vaccine, antibodies, or a negative test
It has been made clear that to enter the country, you would need to show a negative test, or have antibodies against the virus, or you will have to be vaccinated.
All you need is Greece
This is the new slogan for summer 2021, and we could not agree more! Greek Tourism Minister invited internationals to visit Greece this year and to forget "the unpleasant memores" of the past year.
"We are close to the exit from the dark tunnel, thanks to the power of the human spirit and the progress of science" he added.
Random testings at points of entry
It is very likely that you will have to undergo rando testings this coming summer, as it was the case last season. The process will be much easier though as the technology eveolved and we have now rapid tests giving results in 15 minutes.
Mr. Theoharis made clear that the Greek sate will sustain the costs that may arise in relation to COVID-19 during this summer, lifting any bardain on tourism.
Xanemo Sailing is getting ready
Our company is waiting for updated gouvernance regarding COVID-19 and we plan on being ready to sail as soon as possible. We will keep you updated for the exact kick off of our season of course.
We join Mr Theoharis in being very optimistic for 2021 and Greece.
